One hundred years ago, the United States joined the First World War. Building on last year’s Somme 100 exhibition in Guildhall Yard, Fields of Battle, Lands of Peace: The Doughboys 1917-1918 traces the journey of the American soldiers, known as Doughboys, as they entered the fray of WWI. The latest in an acclaimed series of photography exhibitions by Michael St Maur Sheil, this stunning exhibition introduces the viewer to the battlefields of the Western Front – once places of horror and death, now revealed as landscapes of great beauty and tranquility.
Fields of Battle, Lands of Peace: The Doughboys exhibition 1917-1918 runs 7-23 April, in partnership with City of London, National World War I Museum and Memorial, and US Embassy. Entrance is free. Find out more here.
