Hair by Sam McKnight at Somerset House

Somerset House is proud to present this major exhibition celebrating the master hairstylist's remarkable 40-year career, from the late 1970s to the present day.

2 November 2016 - 12 March 2017 | Visit website | Book tickets

Somerset House presents this new exhibition celebrating the legacy of Sam McKnight as an integral part of the fashion industry. McKnight has been instrumental in helping to develop the images of Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell and Princess Diana among many others. He is one of the first session artists to have forged a career solely within fashion, having worked on hundreds of fashion editorial shoots, advertising campaigns and catwalk shows.

This exhibition will unveil the little-known creative processes behind the craft of hair-styling within fashion and will explore the relationships between McKnight and key collaborators. The exhibition will be a first of its kind, looking at hair from a new perspective and contextualising its wider cultural significance.

Hair by Sam McKnight will run from November 2nd 2016 to March 12th 2017 at Embankment Galleries, Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA. Tickets are £12.50, £10 concessions. Book online.
