This Week 22-28 May

22 May 2017 Will Rathbone

There’s a veritable smorgasbord of activities on the menu throughout the final week of the month of May. A scorching play tackles London’s housing crisis head-on at Hampstead Theatre, and there’s a fantastic offer on the Shard’s viewing platform for half-term. See the artists of the future at Central Saint Martins 2017 Degree Show, before celebrating payday in style as the incomparable Robert Luis DJs at Archspace on Saturday – good times guaranteed – whilst Feria de Londres festival brings the Mediterranean to Potters Field all weekend.

The View from The Shard: Kids Go Free

There’s no denying it – the Shard is very tall. It offers an unparalleled view of our magnificent capital city, and throughout half-term The View from The Shard are allowing up to two kids free entry for every adult ticket purchased. It’s a great offer so, with the days getting longer and (touch wood) the skies getting clearer, why not seize the day and soak up the view?

The View from The Shard: Kids Go Free at The Shard runs from May 27 till June 4. Tickets are £25.95 in advance.

Deposit – Hampstead Downstairs

Matt Hartley’s play returns to Hampstead Theatre’s Downstairs studio space, two years after it’s debut there. It follows a year in the lives of two couples sharing a one-bed flat in Herne Hill, and their daily struggles will be instantly familiar to almost anyone aged 25-35 that has called London home in the last 6 years. It’s bleak at times, but is a superbly acted and well-observed depiction of the affordable housing crisis.

Deposit is at Hampstead Theatre until June 10. Tickets are £10-20.

Central Saint Martins 2017 Degree Show

What do the youth of today have to say for themselves though? Central Saint Martins Degree Show gives you the chance find out. Check out work from the renowned art school’s various specialisms – Fine Art, Art and Science and Photography – and discover the voices of the future of British Art. It’s free, it’s inspiring and it’s provocative.

Central Saint Martins 2017 Degree Show is on at Central Saint Martins, King's Cross, and runs from May 24-28 . Entry is free.
