 Digital Revolution

What to expect: Digital pioneers pushing the boundaries of technology

Bringing together a new and dynamic generation of artists filmmakers, designers musicians and game developers, Digital Revolution takes over the Barbican Centre with a spectacular display of digital creativity. This interactive exhibition invites visitors to discover and experience cutting edge technology in what will be the largest presentation of its kind ever to be staged in the UK. Appealing across the board to gamers, geek, art lovers, moviegoers and tech-heads alike, this exhibition is simply a must.

 Didn’t We Have a Lovely Time

What to expect: The best of the British seaside

With summer in full swing, The Photographers’ Gallery takes visitors on a journey along the coast. Celebrating the country’s beautiful beaches, traditional 99 flake ice creams, kitsch postcards and iconic pleasure piers, five of the UK’s leading photographers pay homage to Britain’s beloved seaside! This colourful exhibition promises sun, sea, sand and a jolly good time so don’t miss out!

 Horniman’s Curious Tea Party

What to expect: A wonderful weekend of dance and music

Get ready for an eccentric weekend of dance, music, frivolity and food as the Horniman Museum invites visitors to join the fun at their Curious Tea Party! Working with Trinity Laban and Greenwich Dance the museum will host two days of site-specific dance and music performances in their beautiful flower filled gardens. Visitors can also enjoy a singing treasure hunt, fantastical art installations, dazzling circus acts and so much more! A fantastic weekend of fun for all the family that is sure to put a spring in your step!

 Virginia Woolf: Art, Life and Vision

What to expect: Portraits of a remarkable woman

An exhibition celebrating the life and work of Virginia Woolf opens at the National Portrait Gallery this week. Considered to be one of the most important writers of the 20th century, the exhibition will explore the life and achievements of Woolf through a display of portraits, intimate photographs and an array of personal objects including books, diaries and letters. With over 100 works on display, this exhibition will give visitors a fascinating insight into the life of a great writer.

Virginia Woolf: Art, Life and Vision is on at the National Portrait Gallery from 10th July – 26th October. Tickets £7, available here.

 

 Summer Series

What to expect: A stellar line-up of electric acts

Taking place in London’s most spectacular live music setting, 22 sensational music acts take to the stage at this year’s Summer Series hosted by Somerset House. The intimate festival plays host to 11 unmissable headliners including Bastille, Sam Smith, Clean Bandit, Kelis and Franz Ferdinand! Tickets are scarce but keep your eyes peeled because this is an event not to be missed. Be a part of the festival fun this summer!
