Christmas has officially arrived & London is bursting with festive fun for all, so make sure you check out these five fantastic events happening this week!

 

 The Chocolate Festival

What to expect: a chocoholic’s heaven

If you have a bit of a sweet tooth then you’re in luck because this week The Chocolate Festival returns to the Business Design Centre, in the heart of Islington, just in time for Christmas! This delicious three-day chocolate extravaganza will be offering up an array of chocolatier and artisan delights to tantalize the taste buds including truffle-making workshops run by master chocolatier Paul A. Young, as well as plenty of chocolate talks and tastings! Festivalgoers can even get all of their Crimbo shopping done under one roof, with a plethora of stalls selling delicious goodies and gifts. A myriad of mouth-watering thrills await, so make sure you don’t miss out!

The Chocolate Festival will take place at the Business Design Centre from 12th – 14th December. Tickets cost £7, available here.

 

 We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

What to expect: to catch a big one!

This week, Little Angel Theatre brings Michael Ronsen’s charming family adventures to life at The Albany! Directed by Peter Glanville with music and lyrics by Barb Jungr, this mesmerising puppetry production tells the tale of a family who go on an expedition of a lifetime. The whittled wooden puppet family, dog included, run down the grassy bank, wade through water, squelch over thick mud, stumble into the dark forest, then peer into a cave... but what will they find? Catering to families with younger children, this Christmas production is a perfect introduction into theatre.

We’re going on a Bear Hunt is on at The Albany from 10th December – 4th January 2015. Tickets cost £10 (family ticket £32), available here.

 

 Miss Behave’s Game Show

What to expect: an evening of glamour and chaos

Following a sell-out summer of fun at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe and London Wonderground, the fabulous Miss Behave returns to the Soho Theatre with her one off sparkly Christmas Spectacular! Bringing a brand new strand of idiocy, fun and mayhem to London, Miss Behave and her glamorous assistant Harriet (Harry Clayton-Wright) will delight audiences with a performance that is part Gameshow, part Variety Show, part Disco... and everyone’s a winner! This unmissable evening will also feature some very special guests including, a legendary clown and musical idiot and a hot brother combo well versed in comedy, acrobatics, clowning and spandex ...Yikes!

Miss Behave’s Gameshow is on at the Soho Theatre on 14th December from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.50 - £15, available here.

 

 Science as Revolution

What to expect: a fascinating evening discussion

Nobel Prize winner and renowned geneticist, Sir Paul Nurse will host an after-hours discussion on the power of science at the Natural History Museum this Thursday! The 2014 Annual Science Lecture will focus on the revolutionary nature of science, looking at how scientific knowledge has brought about profound changes in the way we live and in the technologies that support us. Following the lecture, audience members will have the opportunity to engage in the debate with a small question and answer session. As a world leading scientific research centre, the Natural History Museum is the perfect setting to learn and feel inspired!

Science as Revolution will take place at the Natural History Museum on 11th December from 7.45pm – 9.15pm. Tickets cost £15, available here.

 

 The Mid Century Market: Christmas Special

What to expect: bags of vintage cheer

Get your Christmas list at the ready because The Mid Century Market is returning to London for one day only! The glitz and glamour of the 1950’s if brought back to life at the effortlessly elegant Cecil Sharp House in the heart of Camden, with an array of must-have garments, sparkly jewellery and atomic homeware! Whether you have a passion for kitsch novelty print skirts or you're hunting for some one-of-a-kind Crimbo gifts, this vintage fair prides itself on having the UK’s highest quality sellers and the most renowned reproduction brands!
